Thor Rafnsson
My name is Thor Rafnsson, born in Reykjavik. I live and work in Denmark. Above all else visual arts have always been a great interest of mine. I received my education at The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts. My years in Iceland have given me a lot of inspiration and still do when I go home on vacation. The great contrasts, the beautiful language and the harsh and harsh nature appeal to me, which is reflected in my pictures. Most often, I find my subject to through the people I meet in my everyday life, It can also be the way one felt at that moment, a feeling you would like to capture or a space to explore. Every painting is often something new, both technically and spiritually. I can change my style of painting often to suit what I want to express, and sometimes it is even a struggle which forces me to explore new avenues, so that I can reach the visual language I want to express. Some encounters spur my imagination and I get the urge to put what I feel on canvas. It can be the way one felt at that moment, a feeling one would like to capture or a space to explore. Through the pictures I also want to try express mankind's internal spiritual.
