Alice de Miramon

Alice de Miramon, born in 1973 is a Franco-American artist living in south of France. Fascinated by the luminosity of stained glass, by the mystery of old papers, she was very early attracted by Japanese art and old portraits. Her universe is also enriched by references to Magritte and the Douanier Rousseau as well as other contemporary artists. The particularity of her work and her line are immediately noticeable. She uses reclaimed papers of more than hundred years or any support imprinted with memory. Her production already counts several thousand drawings and numerous paintings. Through her work she approaches resilience, the representation of the female body, the relationship between man and nature, memory. Her latest series accentuates the importance of imagination and poetry. She is now one of the emerging artists and appreciated by collectors all over the world.
